6 FPI Laskar Killed by Police, Komnas HAM Forms Investigation Team: National Okezone

JAKARTA – The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM), formed a special team to directly follow up on the shooting of six members Laskar Pembela Islam Front (FPI) by Polda Metro Jaya officials. The team was formed through Komnas HAM’s Monitoring and Investigation division.

Komnas HAM Commissioner Choirul Anam said his party is currently investigating information to deepen the variety of information circulating to the public, including the FPI.

“The team is investigating information and gathering facts from direct parties. Including excavation information from the FPI in person, which is currently in process,” it said in a written statement, Monday (7/12/2020).

He said, in order to strengthen the disclosure of the events that occurred, Komnas HAM hoped that all parties would cooperate and be open. This hope was also passed on to the police.

“This initial process, the team has received several directives and is deepening it,” he said.

Previously, Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran said that the Polda Metro Jaya Team had to take firm action by shooting six HRS supporters to death because the police team was attacked first.

This firm action was taken by a member of the team from the Polda Metro Jaya Directorate General for Criminal Investigation at KM 50 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Highway. The member monitoring the whereabouts of Habib Rizieq was suddenly stopped by a vehicle carrying 10 people who were escorting HRS.

Members who were conducting surveillance were suddenly detained, ”said Fadil at the Metro Jaya Regional Police Headquarters on Monday (7/12/2020).

After being trapped, the six members were not only captured, but also attacked with shots and also with sharp weapons. Upon receiving such treatment, the officer immediately responded to the fire.

“Of the 10 people who attacked, six were declared dead, while the other four managed to escape,” he said.

From the hands of the perpetrators, the agents confiscated two revolver-type firearms, a samurai sword, a bat and 10 real bullets.
