5 things you need to know about increasing BPJS contributions to Perpres 64 health in 2020

KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo again increased the amount of contributions from BPJS Health.

The increase is regulated in Presidential Regulation Number 64 Year 2020 with respect to the Second Amendment to Perpres Number 82 Year 2018 with respect to Health Insurance.

This regulation was signed by President Joko Widodo on Tuesday (05/12/2020).

Previously, Jokowi also had time to change the amount of BPJS Health contributions through 2019 Presidential Regulation No. 75, but the change was canceled by the Supreme Court (MA).

In the latest regulations, there are a number of things that have changed and that deserve public attention.

1. Amount of fees

In article 34 of the Perpres, the rate increase occurred in Class I and Class II independently. It will start on July 1, 2020.

The change in BPJS Health contribution rates for non-salaried participants (PBPU) and non-workers (BP) from January 2020 to 2021 is detailed below.

January-March 2020 based on Presidential Regulation 75 of 2019:

Class 1 Rp. 160,000
Class 2 IDR 110,000
Class 3 IDR 42,000
