JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A case of same-sex sex between a nurse and a Covid-19 patient at Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital has entered the investigation stage.
The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police conducted a title to the case and examined the nurse suspected of having same-sex relationships.
Meanwhile, patients suspected of being involved have not been tested because they are still positive for Covid-19.
“There are several who have been questioned as witnesses, namely reporters, then nurses themselves, but it has the character of clarification. Today we have done a degree and the case has been fingerprinted,” said the Chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Central, Kombes Heru Novianto through a voice statement received on Sunday (12/27/2020).

1. Cases revealed on social media
The immoral act between the nurse and the Covid-19 patient was initially revealed by the patient’s confession on social media.
The patient uploaded a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation with someone known as a nurse at Wisma Atlet Hospital via the Twitter account @bottialter, on Friday (12/25/2020).
From the screenshot of the conversation, it was discovered that the patient and the nurse had agreed to have same-sex sex in the Wisma Atlet bathroom.

The patient also uploaded a photo of his personal protective equipment (PPE) that was said to belong to a nurse at the Athlete’s House.
The upload of the photo was also discussed by netizens, so several Twitter accounts reported the case to the relevant agencies.
The patient subsequently blocked his Twitter account after a screenshot of his confession went viral.
2. Nurses and patients acknowledge actions
The next day, the information about the immoral act reached the management of Wisma Atlet Hospital.
The Regional Military Command (Kodam Jaya), as manager of the Integrated Joint Task Command for Wisma Atlet Hospital operations, immediately conducted a search to find the identity of the patient and the nurse.
After saving the identities of the two, they were immediately searched.
During the exam, they admitted to having sex with people of the same sex.
“The results of the initial examination admit this. However, for the next process, he will present himself to the Police as a civilian investigator for the sake of justice,” said Jaya Military Command Chief of Information, Lieutenant Colonel Arh Herwin BS. Kompas.com, Saturday (12/26/2020).
3. The patients are still in isolation at the Athlete’s House.
Kodam Jaya immediately reassured the nurse and the patient. Both were asked to perform a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) swab test before being handed over to the police.
The results of the PCR test showed that the patient was still positive for Covid-19 and had to undergo isolation first at the Athlete’s House with close supervision.

“The test results for unscrupulous healthcare workers are negative, for individual patients it is still positive,” Herwin said.
Meanwhile, the Kodam Jaya immediately turned the health worker over to the Central Jakarta Police for further examination.
4. Nurse released
Health workers involved in cases of same-sex sexual relations have been released from RSD Wisma Atlet. This was transmitted by the head of RSD Wisma Atlet Brigadier General M Saleh Mustafa.
“Yes, they released us (from Wisma Atlet Hospital),” Saleh said when it was confirmed, Saturday night.
The reason is that the actions of nurses and patients have violated moral norms and they run the risk of transmitting Covid-19 to other healthcare workers.
Kodam Jaya also regretted this incident. They promised to improve supervision of the residents of the Athlete’s House and to reevaluate the process of recruiting medical volunteers at the Athlete’s House.

5. Police have not determined the suspects
Police said they first received a report on the sexual relationship between the nurse and the Covid-19 patient from the staff at Wisma Atlet Hospital. They then coordinated with Kodam Jaya to investigate the case.
Health workers involved in sexual relations were handed over to the police for intensive examinations. The police also collected testimony from witnesses and outraged evidence related to this immoral act.
Although the status of the matter has been raised to the level of investigation, policy ensures that no suspects have been identified.
