455 FPI Imam Rizieq Shihab supporters arrested, 7 suspects

A total of 455 supporters of the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (REIT) Rizieq Shihab, who was following the Action of 1812, was arrested by Polda Metro Jaya. They were detained because they refused to participate in humanitarian operations in the form of rapid tests COVID-19.

“So what was assured was whoever went to the demonstration, from the humanitarian operation we carried out, they avoided it,” said Polda Metro Public Relations chief Jaya Kombes Pol. Yusri Yunus when contacted in Jakarta on Saturday (12/19) yesterday.

After being arrested, Polda Metro Jaya conducted a quick test of the 455 protesters who were arrested. A total of 28 of them were declared reactive to Covid-19, so they continued with the swab test.

“There are 28 reagents and we swabbed them at the Athlete’s House. We have sent them there. We are waiting for the competent ones from the Athlete’s House there. The results are as everyone knows,” Yusri said.

Furthermore, up to seven of the 455 masses of the Action of 1812 were named suspects. Polda Metro Jaya found five of them with sharp weapons, while two of them were carrying drugs similar to cannabis.

Yusri said that five suspects carrying sharp weapons were arrested in the Tangerang and North Jakarta areas. Meanwhile, two suspects carrying marijuana were arrested in Depok on their way to Jakarta.

Furthermore, Yusri said that there is a possibility that the number of suspects will continue to rise. Because, until now, your party is still collecting data on the hundreds of people who were insured.

Previously, the 1812 Field Action Coordinator, Rijal Kobar, declared that his party was ready to provide assistance to the hundreds of people who were arrested by the police.

The 1812 action was known to have been promoted by the National Anti-Communist Alliance (ANAK) NKRI. The demands in this action include requesting that the shooting of six members of the FPI laskar be fully investigated to insist that the leader of the FPI, Rizieq Shihab, be released unconditionally.
