423 employees in 5 factories in the Bekasi district are positive for Covid-19, here is the list

BEKASI, KOMPAS.com – Several factories in Bekasi Regency have become clusters for the spread of Covid-19 from the new normal phase o new normal government operation.

The Covid-19 cases emerged sequentially after the government relaxed the PSBB.

Since July 8, up to 423 employees in 5 industrial factories in Bekasi Regency have been exposed to Covid-19. Its average state is asymptomatic (OTG).

The following is a list of groups for the spread of Covid-19 in Bekasi Regency factories:

1. PT Nippon Oliseal Kagyu Spare Parts Factory

Last week or the end of last August, PT Nippon Oliseal Kagyu (NOK) reported that 88 employees who tested positive for Covid-19 to the Working Group for the Acceleration and Management of Covid-19 at Bekasi Regency.

Alamsyah, spokesperson for the Bekasi Regency Covid-19 Acceleration and Management Working Group, said that of the 88 people who were exposed to Covid-19, up to 68 employees are Bekasi Regency residents.

The rest are residents outside the Bekasi Regency.

He said that up to 6 employees of this parts factory have been declared cured.

Until now, it is not known where the Covid-19 case appeared. The district government is still finding out where the spread of the Covid-19 transmission began in PT NOK.

After the Covid-19 group appeared, some of the auto parts production units had to shut down.

“Some of the units have been shut down,” Alamsyah said.

2. Suzuki motorcycle factory

In mid-August, it was also reported that 71 employees of Suzuki motorcycle designers at Tambun I, Bekasi Regency were exposed to Covid-19.

The head of the Division of Disease Prevention and Control of the Bekasi District Health Office, Irfan Maulana, said that initially the company carried out a rapid test for Covid-19 for employees.

About 900 employees underwent a quick test. All employees whose results are reactive undergo a swab test.

As a result, 71 employees tested positive for Covid-19.

Irfan said that all Covid-19 positive employees were in isolation. Its average state is asymptomatic (OTG).

Although still in operation, PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales Head of PR & Digital Rudiansyah said Suzuki’s production capacity at the Tambun I factory in Bekasi Regency had been reduced by 50 percent.

“Actually, we have closed the factory as of May. But not because cases have been found. Because we have to comply with the government. 3. LG Electronics

Then, on August 19, 242 employees of LG Electronics company in the MM 2,100 Cikarang industry area were exposed to Covid-19.

This group is derived from an employee’s Covid-19 case findings.

After that, 776 LG employees underwent swab tests to determine if there were other cases. As a result, 242 people tested positive for Covid-19.

Of the 242 people, 25 employees were treated at hospitals spread over DKI Jakarta Hospital, Bekasi City and Bekasi Regency.

Meanwhile, the remainder underwent independent isolation in Labkesda, Wisma Ki Hajar Dewantara and in apartments prepared by the company.

After the Covid-19 cluster appeared, LG Electronics said that its office and factory in Cikarang were temporarily closed for nine days.

4. PT Unilever

In July, 21 employees at PT Unilever Indonesia’s Cikarang factory were reported to be exposed to Covid-19.

The spread of SARS-CoV-2 began when one of the employees in the engineering section of Unilever’s Tea-Based Beverage (TBB) tea factory became ill and experienced symptoms of Covid-19.

The Bekasi regency government then carried out the tracking and tracing of Hitachi employee cases.

A total of 22 employees and their families underwent a swab test. As a result, they all tested negative for Covid-19.
