jpnn.com, NEW HAMPSHIRE – United States presidential candidate Joe Biden swept the first five votes cast and finished counting in the 2020 general election on Tuesday (3/11).

All votes came from Dixville Notch and Millsfield in New Hampshire.

Since the 1960 US elections, the two small towns have always been the first to complete the vote count.

Voters choose their candidates for president and governor of New Hampshire, as well as members of the federal and state legislatures, in a midnight ballot.

Located in the Voting Room at the Balsams Resort in Dixville Notch, Les Otten, one of five registered local voters, cast the first vote.

Otten, who claims to be a lifelong Republican supporter, this time voted for Democratic presidential candidate and former US Vice President Joe Biden.

“I disagree with him in many ways,” Otten said of Biden in a video posted on Twitter before the vote.

“But I think it’s time to discover what unites us and not what divides us.”
