“I cannot act, I am not a state apparatus. At the time, Gus Dur said that under the provisions of the law, the person carrying the gun violated the law. Therefore, anyone who violates the law must be prosecuted.
Gus Dur’s fury against the FPI at that time was due to reports of at least 12 people from the National Alliance for Freedom of Religion and Belief (AKKBB) being injured when they were attacked by dozens of people with FPI attributes. at the Jakarta National Monument (Monas).
Gus Dur regretted that at the time of the raid the police had ignored the actions of the FPI.

The police also argued that they did not want to add to the chaos in the atmosphere at the time. “If action were taken, it could cause chaos, it would even make the situation worse. We want to be like fishing, the water remains calm,” said Heru Winarko, who was the Chief of Central Jakarta Police 12 years ago.
Responding to this, Gus Dur considered that the security forces did not dare to take firm action against the masses of the FPI.
“The government does not dare. Over time I will dissolve FPI, ”said Gus Dur. However, Gus Dur did not explain how to disband.
