KOMPAS.com – The end of the year holiday is scheduled to begin December 24, 2020 to January 1, 2021.
This is a change to the joint license allowance for Eid al-Fitr 1441 Hijriah based on the Presidential Decree on Joint Leave for ASN Employees in 2020, which was signed on August 18, 2020.
In addition, the end of 2020 holidays will add 11 days.
However, the long duration of the end of the year holidays has caused controversy in several parts. The reason is that there is always a spike in Covid-19 cases after a long vacation.

Reward proposal abolished
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo has proposed that the government eliminate the joint replacement license scheduled for later this year.
This is because Central Java saw an increase in Covid-19 cases after the long holidays in late October 2020.

Therefore, he hopes that long year-end holidays will be eliminated, to avoid an increase in cases as a result of the holidays.

Replaceable incentives

Ticket discount is removed
Meanwhile, an epidemiologist at Griffith University, Australia, Dicky Budiman, is of the opinion that the elimination of long vacations this year should also be supported by the elimination of ticket discounts.
