Persebaya Surabaya successfully beat Persik Kediri in Group C at the 2021 Menpora Cup. Playing with 10 people from the first round, Bajul Ijo narrowly won 2-1.

Competing at Si Jalak Harupat, Bandung Regency, on Tuesday (3/23/2021), Persik delivered a threat in the 15th minute. OK John’s forward bait successfully landed at the feet of Faris Aditama in the penalty area of Persebaya, but his shot failed to carry the goal.

Persebaya replied two minutes later. Samsul Arif took advantage of the chaotic situation in front of Persik’s goal, but his shot was blocked by Persik’s goalkeeper, Dikri Yusron. In the 20th minute, Ady Setiawan’s long shot goes wide.

Bajul Ijo did not stop pressing. Soon after, it was Hambali Tholib’s turn to fire a long shot, this time being pushed by Yusron.

Disaster came for Persebaya in the 35th minute. Rizky Ridho was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for raping Faris. He had previously received a yellow card in the 8th minute. The situation is 10 against 11 on the field.

Without the number of players, Persebaya is still trying to suppress. Koko Ari fired a shot in injury time, the ball hitting Persik’s baseline and Yusron easily anticipated. The 0-0 draw lasted until the break.

In the second half, Persebaya came close to winning in the 50th minute. Samsul made an inside contraction and launched a horizontal cross in front of Persik’s goal. Oktafianus Fernando caught the ball, but his shot hit the post.

Superior number of players, Persebaya pressed precisely on Persebaya. In the 57th minute, Samsul successfully received a cross from Samsul into the penalty area, but his shot was deflected down the left side of Persik’s goal.

Although many were attacked, Persik finally took the lead in the 62nd minute. Alwi Slamat’s hand in the penalty area prompted the referee to signal the point. Andri Ibo became the kicker and managed to outwit Persebaya goalkeeper Satria Tama. Peaches lead 1-0.

But Peach’s advantage didn’t last long. Persebaya managed to equalize in the 66th minute, also through a penalty from Samsul. Shot 12 was given after Andri Ibo raped Persebaya’s substitute, Antoni Putro, in the forbidden area.

Another pity! In the 70th minute, Persebaya receives a second penalty. OK John tries to sweep Akbar Firmansyah’s bait into the penalty area, but doesn’t realize that Samsul is trying to catch the ball, eventually violating the 36-year-old forward.

Samsul returns as executor and calmly defeats Yusron a second time. 2-1 for Persebaya.

Not to be left behind, Peach tried to find a target. In the 82nd minute, Septian Bagaskara was raped by M Hidayat in front of the Persebaya penalty area. Sackie Doe became the kicker, but her shot still hit the fence of Persebaya’s life.

In the second half of injury time, Ricky Kambuaya made a solo run against Persik on a fast break, but his kick was ultimately slow and easy to secure for Yusron.

No more goals were created until the long whistle, and this match was won by Persebaya 2-1. These results brought Bajul Ijo to the top of the Group C standings with three points. The goal difference is the same as that of Madura United, who also beat PSS Sleman 2-1 in the previous match.
