NEW DELHI: The fate of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League may be up for grabs for now, but Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal feels that if the tournament really happens sometime this year, after things come back back to normal, once you can once again unite the people of the country.

Chahal, who represents the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the IPL, invited Suresh Raina, from India and Chennai Super Kings, to an Instagram chat, which saw thousands of fans logging in to hear what the two cricketers were saying.

The chat was a kind of mini IPL, with Chahal wearing the RCB jersey and Raina showing up in her CSK shirt.

The two spoke on a variety of topics. Chahal also stressed the importance of being at home in these difficult times.

“Jitna ghar pe rahe utna aachha. (The longer you stay at home, the more you are protected.) It is a very serious problem and there is only one option: staying home,” said Chahal.

In the past 12 editions of the tournament, RCB has failed to win a single title. Explaining the reasons for his inability to win the coveted trophy, Chahal mentioned that bowling has not lived up to it.

However, the leggie praised the team’s batting prowess, saying that the batting unit in the past six years has been incredible. But the execution by the bowling unit (especially the youth) has cost them.

Meanwhile, Raina noted that it was the first time for him and his family that they had had such a long break and that these are difficult times.

With no outdoor practice possible, no gyms right now, it has been difficult for the players. But cricket players highlighted the fact that it is crucial to follow government directives religiously in this situation.

Raina, 33, also praised AB de Villiers for his hitting and hitting skills and the love RCB fans have for him, saying it almost seems like the Protea star was born in Bangalore.

The Raina-Chahal duo also indulged in a fun ‘Book Cricket’ game to wrap up their conversation, with more than 15,000 live viewers after a long 50-minute conversation.
