Yuvraj Singh: Yuvraj Singh Could Come Out of Retirement to Play for Punjab | Cricket news

NEW DELHI: Yuvraj singh could be seen in action on the home circuit as the flamboyant Indian hitter talked about how he wants to help Punjab win championships, Cricbuzz reported. Yuvraj, 38, had retired from national and international cricket last year.
Working with youth from Punjab Shubman gill, Abhishek Sharma, Prabhsimran Singh and Anmolpreet Singh in recent months he has made Yuvraj realize how well he was hitting the ball despite not being on the field for a long time.

“I enjoyed spending time with these young people and talking to them about various aspects of the game, I realized that they could pick up on various things that I was saying to them,” Yuvraj told Cricbuzz, while confirming his return plans. “I had to go online to show them some other items, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well he was hitting the ball even though he hadn’t held a bat for a long time.”
“I also trained during those two months, and then I started hitting in the off-season camp. I did runs in some of the practice games. Mr. Puneet Bali, the secretary of the Punjab Cricket Association, approached me afterwards. that one of the sessions and he asked me if I would reconsider coming out of retirement. ”
“At first, I wasn’t sure I wanted to accept the offer,” admits Yuvraj. “I ended up with national cricket, although I wanted to continue playing in other national franchise-based leagues around the world if I got permission from the BCCI. But neither could he ignore Mr Bali’s request. I thought about it a lot, for almost three or four weeks, and it was almost as if in the end I didn’t even have to make a conscious decision. ”

Cricbuzz also reported that Yuvraj has written an email to BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah requesting their permission to come out of retirement. He has made it clear that if he can play for Punjab again, he will not look for options to play outside the country.
“As things are now, I will only play T20 if I get the go-ahead,” observed Yuvraj. “But who knows, let’s see.”
Yuvraj’s mother, Shabnam Singh, a constant pillar of support in her life, said she still has a passion for the game.
“He will be back (from Dubai) in a couple of days and then we are going to have a long talk about all of this. Whatever they are hearing must be true,” Shabnam told PTI.
On Tuesday, he was rumored to be considering a season in the Big Bash League and Cricket Australia is trying to help him find a team.
According to BCCI rules, only retired cricketers can play leagues abroad.
During his long international career, Yuvraj gifted everyone with his explosive hitting, brilliant fielding, and more than practical left-arm spinning bowling pin.
When contacted by PTI, his father, Father Yograj Singh, said: “He retired after 20 years of competitive cricket last year and it was his personal decision that I did not interfere with. But even then I felt that he should not have retired. ”
“He is a giver. In these days, in scorching heat, he trained Shubman, Prabh and Abhishek for five hours a day.
“From the way he hit six at the new PCA stadium in Mullanpur, everyone wanted him to come back. If he plays at least three years for Punjab, he will bring two 2 world-class players back to Indian cricket. So he must play.”
Yuvraj, the 2011 World Cup player of the tournament, last played for India in 2017.
The left-handed hitter has scored 8,701 runs in 304 ODI, in addition to taking 111 wickets for India. He has also played 40 tests and 58 T20I for the country.
