Chirs Gayle lashed out at former West Indies teammate Ramnaresh Sarwan and called him a ‘snake’ and ‘worse than the coronavirus’ for his alleged role in the aftermath of the Jamaica Premier League (CPL) Jamaica Tallawahs franchise.
“Sarwan, you are worse than the coronavirus right now,” Gayle said in the three-part video posted on his official YouTube channel where he tore apart the former West Indies captain.
Jamaica Tallawahs decided not to retain Gayle after the West Indies joined the franchise last season. Chris Gayle will represent Saint Lucia Zouks in the 2020 CPL season where he will play under the leadership of Darren Sammy and head coach Andy Flower.
Gayle played for the Tallawahs in the first four seasons of the CPL before representing the Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots. in the next two seasons.
“What happened with the Tallahwahs, you had an important role to play. Sarwan, you were the one who gave a great speech at my birthday party about how far we’ve come. Sarwan, you are a snake. You know, you are not the most beloved person in the Caribbean. You’re so vindictive, you’re still immature, you’re stabbing in the back. When do you plan to change? Gayle said in the YouTube video.
“That shows that your own people weaken you. No matter how far you and they go, they still weaken you,” Gayle said.
“Outside of that era, 1996, I’m the only asset, playing. Everyone else retired. I’m the last man in that era … and I’m still getting stronger. So it hurt them. I see Chris Gayle still playing and succeeding. I’m talking about past and present players. But I’m dealing with you Sarwan. I’ll deal (with others) when the time comes. “
“The amount of lies he used to tell about the players … he and the team management did not understand each other.”
The CPL is scheduled between August 19 and September 26, however, there could be a change in dates due to the current Covid-19 crisis. The tournament will be played behind closed doors or without foreign players, or will be delayed until December, as organizers continue to discuss the roadmap for the league.
