He said that those in power before the NDA government was formed were so obsessed with their “commission” that they never cared about connectivity for regions like Mithila. Voting began in 71 constituencies of the Bihar assembly today in the first phase of the three-phase elections amid tight security measures and the Covid-19 guidelines in force. Of the nearly 2.15 crore of voters eligible to exercise the franchise, 1.12 crore are men, 1.01 crore are women and 599 are classified as third gender, according to data provided by the Electoral Commission.
