Adityanath also said that effective protection must be provided to all the poor and needy who may be affected in such incidents.

“All cases of crimes against women should be tried in fast track courts, while those involving minors should be tried in the courts of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO),” Adityanath said, according to the press release. Previously, the Allahabad high court had ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to take steps for the early constitution of Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) in each district of the state to ensure appropriate measures, including those related to children charged with violate criminal laws.

In addition, the court also ordered the state government to ensure that, in future, steps are taken to fill vacancies at the JJB at least six months prior to the date the post becomes vacant.
