According to the Unlock 4 guidelines issued by the central government, all schools, colleges and educational institutes in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed until September 30, the state government said.
Chief Secretary RK Tiwari said on Sunday that online and distance learning will be encouraged.
Subway trains will be allowed to resume from September 7 in a phased manner, according to an official order. For this, the standard operating procedure will be issued separately.
Movie theaters, swimming pools, amusement parks, theater, auditorium and similar venues will be closed. However, the open-air cinemas may open from September 21.
More than 67 more people died from the coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, while the state posted a record daily peak of 6,233 cases, bringing its Covid-19 count to 2,25,632.
The process of Unblocking the country had begun on June 1 with the gradual reopening of commercial, social, religious and other activities.
Unlock 4 will go into effect from September 1 and will continue until September 30. The lockdown on containment zones in the state will remain in effect until Sept. 30, the order says, adding that the district magistrate cannot enforce the lockdown locally.
There will be no restrictions on interstate and intrastate movement, he said.
As of September 21, 50% of the teaching and non-teaching staff may be summoned for online education work. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will issue the standard operating procedure for this.
Students in classes 9-12 living outside the containment zones may be allowed to seek guidance from their teachers for which they will need written permission from their parents.
