Mumbai:

Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath responded to the Shiv Sena’s accusation that his meeting with Bollywood personalities on Wednesday was part of a plot to steal the Mumbai film industry for an upcoming film city near Noida. He said there is “open competition” between states and those that can provide better facilities will win investment.

“We are not taking or hindering anyone’s investments. Nobody can take anything. It is not like a purse that is taken away. It is open competition. One that can provide a safe environment, better facilities, and especially social security” that it is possible to work without discrimination will obtain investments ”, he said, quoted by the PTI news agency.

Yogi Adityanath visited Mumbai on Wednesday to meet with film personalities seeking suggestions for the UP’s ambitious film city project.

The chief minister, who had met with superstar Akshay Kumar on Tuesday, met with filmmakers Boney Kapoor, Manmohan Shetty, Jayantilal Gada, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Anil Sharma, Honey Trehan and Umesh Shukla on Wednesday. Actors Arjun Rampal, Satish Kaushik and Ravi Kishan also attended the meeting.

Ruler Shiv Sena strongly opposed Yogi Adityanath’s approach to filmmakers. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said he will not allow anyone to take the film industry from him.

“Some people will come today and meet with you, urging you to invest in their states. But they are not aware of our magnetic power. It is so powerful that no industry in Maharashtra will go to their state,” he said.

Thackeray said that Maharashtra was not jealous of the progress of any other state. “Let them progress by competing. But if someone tries to forcibly take (our) businesses back to their states, then I won’t let it happen.”

The UP CM denied Shiv Sena’s accusation.

“We are creating something new. Why do you care? We are giving a new world-class infrastructure for everyone. Therefore, everyone will have to grow, expand thinking; better facilities will have to be given. One that is capable of doing that. it will get people, ”he said.

Earlier this year, Yogi Adityanath had announced a film city larger than Mumbai. The UP government has identified a 1,000 acre parcel near the nearby Jewar airport for installation.
