Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Saturday that those guilty of crimes against women will be punished quickly as there will now be a separate room for female whistleblowers in 1,535 police stations across the state.

Yogi Adityanath made these comments when launching the “Mission Shakti” program for the safety of women in Uttar Pradesh. The girls demonstrated self defense techniques during the event.

“To pay tribute to the victim of a very regrettable incident, I decided to launch the Mission Shakti campaign from Balrampur and I am very happy to launch this program. Mission Shakti aims to ensure the safety and respect of all women in the state, ” he said.

“There will now be a separate room for women complainants in 1,535 police stations throughout the state, where they will be attended by a policewoman and there will be urgent action on their complaint. Those guilty of crimes against women will be punished promptly,” he added. .

The government of Uttar Pradesh launched the 6-month women’s empowerment program ‘Mission Shakti’ to raise awareness and tackle crime against women in the state. Governor Anandiben Patel launched the campaign in Lucknow, while Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched it in Balrampur.

The initiative has started at ‘Shardiya Navratri’ and will continue for the next six months until ‘Chaitra Navratri’ in April.

Ministers and other people’s representatives will launch the campaign in other districts. The six-month campaign has two phases, Mission Shakti ‘and’ Operation Shakti. Mission Shakti will feature awareness campaigns related to women’s safety.

In a tweet, the CM Office said that initiatives such as gender-based awareness, training, corporate activity, voice messages, interviews, programs in Durga Puja and other cultural pandalos should be organized to create greater awareness under the ‘Mission Shakti’.

A special week-long campaign will be launched every month during the campaign to raise awareness among the masses and sensitize people on the issue, the Office of the Chief Minister (OCM) said in a statement.

“These programs will be organized in the 521 blocks, 59,000 gram panchayats, 630 urban locations and 1,535 police stations in the 75 districts of the state.
