Yogi Adityanath Attends UP Mumbai Investor Defense Broker Meeting, Dispels Film City Fears | Uttar Pradesh News

MUMBAI: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the UP Investor Defense Corridor meeting in Mumbai on Wednesday. On August 14, the Uttar Pradesh government CM Yogi Adityanath had set up an entity, ‘Invest UP’, to promote investment in the state.

Its chair is Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the state Industry Development Minister Satish Mahana and MSMEs Minister Siddharth Nath Singh are its vice-chairs.

CM Yogi Adityanath’s dream project, spread over six districts, aims to make Uttar Pradesh a defense production hub. Investments, however, have been modest so far.

During the meeting, UP CM also allayed fears about the proposed Film City in Noida.

Clarifying the issue, CM Yogi said that the northern state does not want to take the film business away from the financial capital.

However, it is an open competition and whoever provides the right atmosphere and security in which the talent can work will get the investments, he said.

Before his visit to Mumbai, the ruling Congress in Maharashtra had alleged a conspiracy to seize the film city from UP, and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had promised not to allow anyone to take business “by force.”

“We are not taking or hampering anyone’s investments,” CM Adityanath said.

“Nobody can take anything. It is not like a purse that is removed. It is an open competition. The one that can provide a safe environment, better facilities – and above all social security – in which one can work without discrimination will obtain investments, he added.

Responding to Seine MP Sanjay Raut’s assertion that reproducing the film city in another city is a difficult task, Adityanath said “we have not come here to take anything away.”

“We are creating something new. Why do you care? We are giving a new world-class infrastructure for everyone. Therefore, everyone will have to grow, broaden their thinking and provide better facilities. One who is capable of doing that will attract people, he added.

Earlier in the day, Raut said it is not easy to move the Mumbai Film City to another part, even though attempts have been made. “What is the current state of Noida Film City? Can Film City of Bombay be created in Lucknow and Patna?” Raut had said while talking to reporters.

“Before, attempts were made. It is difficult to replicate the Mumbai film industry elsewhere. Mumbai has a glorious film history and past,” Raut said.
