Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Friday the creation of the country’s “largest” film city in Gautam Buddh Nagar state, officials here said.

“The CM, while addressing a review meeting, announced the creation of the largest and most beautiful film city in the country at Gautam Buddh Nagar. He instructed officials to search for suitable land in or around Noida, Greater Noida or Yamuna Expressway and to prepare an action plan, ”an official statement said.

On the conflict between builder and buyer in Noida and Greater Noida, the CM asked to guarantee the protection of consumers’ rights by all means and said that as soon as a flat is ready, its registration should be done.

The CM ordered the Noida Authority to accelerate work on ongoing projects such as the Noida Habitat and Convention Center, the golf course and Metro expansion and a shooting range in Sector 21-A, he said.

The CM gave the instructions during a review meeting of development projects of the Meerut division, which comprises the districts of Meerut, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Baghpat and Gautam Buddh Nagar.

There are seven ongoing projects at Gautam Buddh Nagar; three each in Meerut and Ghaziabad; two in Bulandshahr; and one in Baghpat with a total authorized cost of more than Rs 2 billion, he said.

The CM also interacted with the parliamentarians and the MLAs in the region and learned about the issues raised by them.

The CM assured that traffic jams from Delhi, Ghaziabad to Meerut will now be a thing of the past, the statement said.

The Delhi-Meerut expressway, the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut regional rapid transit system and the inner ring road in Meerut will ease traffic like never before, the CM said. He directed that an ongoing Delhi-Meerut highway project will be completed by the end of this year.

He said that the entire Meerut Metro project should be completed by March 2025, while the priority section from Sahibabad to Duhai (17 km long) should be completed by March 2023.

He reiterated that the Smart City projects in Ghaziabad and Meerut must be accelerated.

Of 20 projects under AMRUT (water supply) in the division, nine have been completed. The CM asked to accelerate other projects.

The CM cautioned that delay in development work will not be tolerated and that projects must be completed on time while respecting quality standards.

He said it is extremely important to award projects to agencies that have sufficient manpower and capacity to execute them on time.

He said that the funds earmarked for development should not be used elsewhere, otherwise strict measures will be taken, including the seizure of the properties of the culprits.
