Google’s top services, including Gmail and YouTube, fell by the millions around the world. Several started complaining on social media around 5 p.m. IST.
While Google Docs users were seeing the message “Google Docs found an error. Please try to reload this page or come back to it in a few minutes”, YouTube just displayed its error page with a monkey and says ‘Something went wrong’ together with a search bar.

As for Gmail, the page said “Sorry, your account is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience and suggest trying again in a few minutes. You can view the G Suite Status Dashboard to see the current status of the service. “
According to the downdetector website, almost all Google services were affected. This included Google Drive, Hangouts, Meet, Play, and Duo.

Google Maps users could open the page on the desktop, but could not log in to get personalized results.
Based on the live outage map, the problem appeared to be severe in the European region, while other countries like Japan and parts of the US were also affected.
The Android and iOS versions of these services work fine for now.
