XiaomiThe Redmi sub-brand recently added another audio product to its growing portfolio. This time we are looking at the Redmi Air Dots S. As you may have guessed, the Air Dots S is an affordable truly wireless hearing aid. Surprisingly, the new model does not bring any visual changes, and in fact, the spec sheet is also quite identical to the previous air points. The exception here is the mono sound output support.
Xiaomi Redmi Air Dots S: price, availability
The new Redmi Air Dots S comes with a price of CNY 99 (i.e. about $ 14) making it an affordable offer. As expected, the headphones are only available in China as of now. Those interested can already buy the product. As for international availability, we should see that happen later this year.
Specifications, Features
As mentioned earlier, most of the specifications of the new model remain identical. We’re looking at 7.2mm drivers, DSP noise canceling for calls, and of course, touch controls for music and voice assistant. The latest addition is the mono sound output mode in which the two headphones are divided acting as separate receivers.
The smartphone maker is promoting a better sound transmission rate, which is surprising considering that it still uses Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The audio product also comes with a low latency game mode that should come in handy.
In terms of battery life, the company claims a 4-hour backup on a single charge. The charging case can extend the life to 12 hours. The Air Dots S also comes with an IPX4 rating which means it is splash resistant.
