  • Redmi GM Lu Weibing has shared a render of the new Redmi Note 9 Pro.
  • The phone has four rear cameras, including a new sensor.

The new Redmi Note 9 series will launch on November 26 and we are learning new things about it daily. The latest information comes from the general manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing, who has shared an official version of the supposed new Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. The official has also unveiled a new camera sensor for the series.

The image shared by Weibing (seen below) shows a smartphone with a circular quad camera design and a gradient color finish. We previously saw the same phone appear in blue on the Chinese certification website TENAA.

The presence of four rear cameras almost confirms that this is the top-end Redmi Note 9 Pro. The vanilla Redmi Note 9 is expected to have a triple rear camera setup.

Speaking of cameras, Weibing has also unveiled a world-first camera sensor for the series, but it will most likely appear on the Pro model.

It is believed that the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G could include the new Samsung HM2 108MP sensor. The recently released sensor is 15% smaller than Samsung’s previous Isocell HM1 sensor used in the Galaxy S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra. It also displays smaller 0.7-micron pixels compared to the 0.8-micron pixels of its predecessor.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Series: What’s New?

Xiaomi already has the Redmi Note 9, Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max on the market. However, none of them support 5G connectivity, which is the main change in the new phones. The so-called Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is said to include the Snapdragon 750G chipset, while the standard Note 9 bows to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 800U.

The series is also rumored to bring adaptive 120Hz displays and better imaging capabilities compared to existing Redmi Note 9 phones. You can read more about the leaked specs of the next two devices here.
