MIUI 12 was announced at the end of April in China. Since then Xiaomi has been rolling it out to various eligible smartphones around the world. Now, almost eight months later, the company confirms the arrival of a new version of MIUI, called MIUI 12.5.
For those who don’t know Xiaomi update the new generation of MIUI months after its launch. This version is often called x.5. Therefore, the next newest version of MIUI will be official as MIIUI 12.5.
The company confirmed in a post on Mi Community China. According to the publication, the company will suspend the weekly MIUI beta builds from December 14, 2020. Because it will focus on the release of MIUI 12.5. That means we can expect the new version of MIUI to debut in the upcoming Mi 11 series, the OEM’s flagship smartphones by 2021.
That being said, we believe that MIUI 12.5 will bring minor changes and some new features. Following the previous iterations of MIUI x.5 versions like MIUI 11.5, MIUI 10.5 and MIUI 9.5, the next version will be a preparatory update for MIUI 13.
We hope that Xiaomi will release this update to almost all Xiaomi, RedmiY LITTLE BIT– branded smartphones that are currently in MIUI 12.
