Voting for the Bihar assembly elections will take place in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7 in one of the most important elections globally during the COVID-19 pandemic, followed of the vote count on 10 November, according to the announced Bihar election calendar. by the Electoral Commission in September.
Voting for the first phase on October 28 will cover 71 constituencies of the assembly, while the voting for the second phase on November 3 will cover 94 seats. The third phase of the vote on November 7 will cover 78 seats in the assembly. The vote count for all seats will take place on November 10.
On November 3 and 7 there will be by-elections to a Lok Sabha and 56 assembly seats spread over 12 states. While 54 seats in the assembly will be held by-elections on November 3, one seat for Lok Sabha in Bihar and two in Manipur will be held on 7 November.
The votes for all partial votes will be counted on November 10, along with the counting of the votes for the general assembly elections in Bihar. However, the seven-seat electoral assemblies in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam and West Bengal will not take place in the current election cycle.
While there are two vacancies in each of the assemblies in Assam, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, there is one vacant seat in the West Bengal legislature. The mandate of the legislative assemblies of the four states would end on different dates between May and June next year.
