Woman shot to death outside university in Ballabhgarh, Haryana, defendant arrested


The man, who shot and killed a 21-year-old woman just after she took an exam at a university in Haryana’s Ballabhgarh on Monday, and his accomplice were arrested, according to reports. The main defendant, who according to the police knew the victim, tried to put the woman inside his car in a possible attempt to kidnap her and then shot her.

“My daughter went to take an exam at the university. The assailant tried to force her to sit in his car, but she refused. After a brief fight, he shot him, ”the victim’s father said, according to the ANI news agency. “We also complained before because these people used to bother her and now they have killed my daughter,” he added.

“Nikita had come to the university for an exam. Touseef, whom she knew, tried to talk to her and then shot her, ”said Jaiveer Rathi, additional commissioner of police from Ballabhgarh (ACP).

The woman, a senior at BCom, was rushed to a hospital after the attack, but succumbed to her injuries, police said.

Haryana’s chief minister, ML Khattar, assured that strict measures would be taken against the culprits and the state’s interior minister, Anil Vij, said that a special investigation team (SIT) is investigating the murder of the woman.

Both defendants involved in the brutal murder of a student in Faridabad last night have been arrested. The murder weapon has been recovered. An SIT led by ACP Crime Anil Kumar will guarantee a speedy investigation and a trial with defined deadlines to guarantee justice to the family, ”Vij said, according to ANI.
