Woman locked in the bathroom for a year


Women have been victims of domestic abuse by their male partners since the beginning of time and it cannot be denied that this evil is still prevalent in our society.

In a shocking incident, a woman, who was allegedly locked in a toilet for over a year by her husband here in Rishpur village, was rescued by the Women’s Protection and Child Marriage Prohibition Officer Rajni Gupta along with her team. “I received information that a woman was locked in the bathroom for over a year. I come here with my team. When we got here, we found out that it was true. It appears that the woman has not eaten anything for many days,” Gupta said. He said.

“It is said that she is mentally unstable, but it is not true. We have spoken with her and it was evident that she is not mentally unstable. We cannot confirm if she is mentally unstable or not, but she was locked in the bathroom. We rescued her and washed her hair. We have filed a police complaint. The police will take the corresponding measures, “he added.

The victim’s husband claims that she is mentally unstable. “She was mentally unstable. We asked her to sit outside, but not sit there. We have taken her to the doctors, but her condition has not improved,” he said.
