Woman killed in hit-and-run case: Delhi police arrest 42-year-old dentist

Days after a woman was killed in a hit-and-run case in Lado Sarai, south Delhi, Delhi police on Tuesday arrested a 42-year-old dentist in connection with the incident.

The incident occurred on the night of November 17 when the woman was returning to her PG in Lado Sarai. Police said the woman was 38 years old and worked for Axis Bank in Gurgaon. Eyewitnesses told police that a speeding Honda City car struck the woman as she was crossing the street and she fled the scene. Locals brought the woman to AIIMS, but doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Deputy Police Commissioner (South) Atul Kumar Thakur said a case was recorded and police scanned all CCTVs near the scene to find the car. “The accused was identified as Pankaj Sudhakar. We arrested him and also impounded the car he was driving the night of the accident, ”said DCP.

Sudhakar lives in Kalkaji Ext and works in a clinic in Saket. You have been booked for reckless driving and wrongful death.
