BJP’s newly appointed Yuva Morcha boss Tejasvi Surya will lead a ‘Nabanna Chalo’ rally on Thursday, a protest march to the office of Gherao West Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, demanding justice for the state’s youth. He will be joined by Bengal chief Yuva Morcha, Saumitra Khan. The two leaders will then march from Howrah to Banerjee’s office around 10 a.m. Thursday.
This will be the first protest rally for Tejasvi as president of Yuva Morcha, to whom he was appointed 15 days ago. The protests will take place in other key locations across the state. Santragachi will see general secretaries of state, including MP Locket Chatterjee, Sayantan Basu, Jyotirmoy Mahato, among others. Meanwhile, from Hastings, the state head of the BJP office, Kailash Vijayvargiya, will lead the rally and from the state headquarters, the state president, Dilip Ghosh, will take charge along with a host of leaders.
About two lakh people are expected to take part in these protests despite the fact that public transport such as trains and buses operate with limited capacity. Each mandal has been tasked with deploying 10 buses to take workers to the protest site.
“Our founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee came from Bengal. We owe much to the youth of Bengal. We will end the tyrannical rule of Mamata Didi and announce a new beginning for Bengal and its talented youth,” added Tejasvi.
In particular, this demonstration is the precursor to the visit of the Minister of the Interior, Amit Shah, to Bengal in mid-October.
