Rajasthan police have filed an FIR against former Deputy Minister Sachin Pilot’s media manager Lokendra Singh and Jaipur-based Aaj Tak editor Sharat Kumar two months after the congressional leader’s camp indicted the government led by Ashok Gehlot of touching phones of some of your MLAs.
The FIR stayed at the Vidhayak Puri Police Station in Jaipur under Sections 505 (1) (whoever makes, publishes or circulates any statement, rumor or report), 505 (2) (statements that create or promote enmity, hatred or ill will between classes), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and section 76 of the IT Act, where “any computer, computer system, floppy disks, compact discs, tape drives or any other accessory related to the same, with respect to which any provision of this Laws, rules, orders or regulations issued by virtue of the same have been or are infringed, will be subject to confiscation. “
The police have also summoned Singh for questioning on Thursday and have asked him to bring his mobile, laptop or computer through which he allegedly disseminated such information. The investigating officer on the case is Vidhayak Puri SHO Om Prakash Matwa.
Reacting to the summons, Kumar said: “All news channels carried the story from morning to night. Why is a channel highlighted? “
On August 7, the pilot camp had accused Gehlot of tapping the phones of some of the legislators who were staying at the Suryagarh Hotel in Jaisalmer, with the participation of some state police officers. However, the police department denied the allegations and claimed that people were spreading false information.
The camp also claimed that calls from at least six MLAs in Jaisalmer were being “unconstitutionally” registered by the state government.
They also shared a document that allegedly shows a list of calls made to various leaders of the Gehlot camp, including Cabinet Minister Shanti Kumar Dhariwal, Rajakhera MLA Rohit Bohra, Kaman MLA Zahida Khan, Banswara MLA Arjun Singh Bamniya, Dantaramgarh MLA Virendra Singh and Independent MLA of Behror. Baljeet Yadav.
The statement from the pilot camp also stated that “Ajaib Electronics has also installed four jammers at the Suryagarh complex and there is only one place in the entire hotel from which calls can be made.”
Following the allegations, the police “clarified” that “no unit of the Rajasthan police is involved in wiretapping (phones) of any MLA or MP and it was not done before” either.
“Even the accusation of recording conversations through the intercom is false and fictitious. Rajasthan police always work to stop criminal acts and illegal wiretapping is a criminal act, “he had said, asking people not to pay attention to any” malicious elements spreading rumors due to ill will and for selfish reasons. ” He also described the dissemination of “false information” as “illegal.”
SD Soni, who runs Ajaib Electronics, had previously told The Indian Express that it was “not aware” of such a facility. “I don’t even know any Suryagarh, kahaan ki baat kar rahe hain aap (what are you talking about)? I don’t know anything, ”Soni said.
