Will never join BJP, says Trinamool MP Saugata Roy

Calcutta:

Amid mounting speculation that political leaders are leaving their parties to join opposition camps ahead of the Assembly elections in West Bengal, TMC MP Saugata Roy said on Saturday that he strongly supports his party and never will join the BJP.

Mr. Roy, while speaking to ANI, criticized Barrackpore BJP MP Arjun Singh as a “third class” and “Bahubali” politician.

“This is just one part of the BJP campaign. It is the technique of the BJP IT cell chief, Amit Malviya, to spread a lot of fake news,” he added.

BJP MP Arjun Singh made a statement on Saturday that TMC MP Saugata Roy, along with five other MPs will join the BJP.

Meanwhile, the fact that the TMC leader and Minister of State, Suvendu Adhikari, leaves his party is an open question, as on several occasions, such as in Nandigram and Midnapore, he has been identified holding public meetings without the symbol, flag or banner of the party.

Even Suvendu Adhikari posters have appeared in some districts of the state and now in Kolkata. These posters with the image of Adhikari mention Aamra Suvendu Dada Anugaami (We are Suvendu’s well-wisher brothers).

West Bengal is scheduled to go to the Assembly elections in mid-2021.
