Will Kane Williamson be released by SRH before IPL 2021? David Warner gives an update – cricket

After the successful conduct of the 2020 Indian Premier League, the Indian Cricket Control Board will prepare for the fourteenth season of the tournament. The chairman of the board, Sourav Ganguly, has already hinted that the next IPL season will take place in the April-May window alongside the addition of a new franchise.

According to media reports, a mega auction will take place before the 14th edition of the cash rich tournament. If it happens on official grounds, the franchises have to free the majority of the players and a massive shakeup could be seen.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad fans are very concerned to follow these trends on social media. Patron David Warner and Rashid Khan have been spectacularly consistent for the team and they are sure to stick.

Since the latest mega auctions allowed teams to have only two foreign players, fans are speculating that the Orange Army may free Kane Williamson, who has been a savior of the Sunrisers over the years.

A couple of fans asked Warner direct questions, asking if there was any chance of SRH losing Williamson. To this, the Australian starter replied, “We won’t lose it.”

Another fan asked Warner to keep the Kiwi superstar, as he is the future of the Sunrisers. In response to this message, Warner said: “We will. Do not worry. Well, I hope they do. I want it”

While the SRH boss said he wants Williamson to remain on the team, he also clarified that management would make the final decision.

If there will be mega auctions and it starts under the rules above, then the franchise will have the Right To Match (RTM) option through which they can have Williamson re-enter the team. It’s going to be as interesting as the tournament if BCCI gives the go-ahead to mega auctions.
