Referring to the recently concluded Bihar elections, Banerjee said that even the leader of the RJD, Lalu Prasad Yadav, has been put behind bars, but still ensured the good performance of his party.

In a sign of how bitter the 2021 Assembly elections in West Bengal promise to be, Mamata Banerjee kicked off the Trinamool Congressional campaign, tearing apart the BJP and calling the party a “garbage can of lies” and the ” greatest curse on the nation. “

Addressing a rally in Bankura, from where BJP leader Amit Shah launched his party’s campaign earlier this month, Banerjee said: “The BJP is not a political party, but a pure mithyer garbage dump. garbage dump of lies). Whenever elections come around, they bring up the issue of Narada (sting operation) and Saradha (scam) to intimidate Trinamool leaders. But let me tell you very clearly, I am not afraid of the BJP or their agencies. If they have the guts, they can arrest me and put me behind bars. I will fight the elections from prison and ensure the victory of Trinamool ”.

To make his point, he referred to the good performance of the RJD in the recent elections to the Bihar Assembly despite the fact that Lalu Prasad is in jail. “Even Lalu Prasad Yadav has been put behind bars, but he ensured the good performance of his match. The victory of the BJP (in Bihar) was by manipulation and not by popular mandate, ”he said.

He also accused the BJP of offering money to the Trinamool Congress MLA to switch sides.

“They are calling Trinamool workers and offering money. They’re saying, we’ll give you 2 crore, crossover. They’re giving you an MLA, I’ll give you 15 lakh now, 15 lakh later. Is this a political party? They are a shame, ”he said.

Banerjee also accused the Communists of joining the BJP to avoid arrests in the Sharada scam. “The left of the past has become the new BJP,” he said.

Dismissing the talks about the BJP coming to power in the state, the CM said: “Some people have the illusion that they (BJP) will come to power, so some people are trying to risk it. But I want to say this clearly, there is no chance or ‘chance’ that the BJP will come to power. We will return to power with a greater mandate ”.
