Commenting on the ongoing investigation into the case of SSR’s death by the Mumbai police, Kangana Ranaut had compared Mumbai / Bollywood to Pak-occupied Kashmir, sparking a long battle between Kangana and Shiv Sena. Kangana alleged that he had received threats from Seine leaders after his comments on Mumbai, after which the Center provided him with Y-plus security. On the day he arrived in Mumbai from his hometown Manali, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation razed an allegedly illegal part of his Mumbai office. The matter went to the Bombay High Court, which suspended the demolition campaign. Kangana is scheduled to meet with the Governor of Maharashtra, BS Koshyari, on Sunday before leaving the city.
While the Maha Vikas Aghadi government of Maharashtra has distanced itself from the ongoing controversy, Shiv Sena is leading the battle riding on the pride of Maratha. “Those who come to Mumbai to try their hand at this industry first stay on the trail and then move to Juju, Pali Hill and Malabar Hill to build their bungalows. All of these people have always been grateful to the city and state that allowed them to pursue their dreams and make them big. They have never betrayed Mumbai, but they have also contributed to the growth of the city, ”the Saamana editorial noted on Saturday.
