National Day of Mathematics 2020: List of scholarships, scholarships
Institute of Mathematical Sciences offers doctoral and postdoctoral scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students. Junior Research Scholarships are awarded to PhD students. The scholarships include a one-month stipend ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 28,000. Whereas, for postdoctoral fellowships, the stipend varies between Rs 30,000-40,000 per month.
For both junior research and postdoctoral fellowships, applicants must have a Ph.D. The scholarships are awarded for up to five years, the duration can be extended depending on the performance of the candidate. Candidates are selected through a written test and an interview.
Chennai Institute of Mathematics offers a scholarship program for its undergraduate program. Candidates’ eligibility will be reviewed each semester and the renewal of the scholarship will depend on their academic performance.

Students eligible for a full scholarship will get a waiver of tuition fees and a monthly allowance of Rs 4000, while half of the scholarship will consist of waiver of tuition fees. Meanwhile, all students will receive an additional monthly scholarship of Rs 1000.
Statistical Institute of India offers six-month research fellowships at the graduate and post-doctoral level. Candidates in their first and second years will receive a stipend of Rs 16,000 while Rs 18,000 in subsequent years. Candidates with a postgraduate degree in statistics, mathematics, electronics, computer science can apply for the program. Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc Bangalore) offers a comprehensive doctoral program in mathematical sciences. The amount of scholarship offered ranged from Rs 16,000 to 35,000 depending on the merit of the students. Apart from this, the institute offered scholarships of Rs 31,000 to 35,000 to PhD students, Rs 12,400 to MTech, MTech (residential), MDes program students. The institute also offers government scholarships, scholarships for selected students who qualify for GATE / JEST / JAM and ME / MTech / MSc (Engg).
Tata Institute for Fundamental Research (TIFR): The Center for Applicable Mathematics, TIFR has an integrated doctoral program in mathematics, among other doctoral programs. For the integrated doctoral program, eligible students receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 21,000, while scholarships between Rs 31,000 and 35,000 for other PhD students. Fellows also get accommodation. The admissions process generally begins in August of each year.
