Why Covid-19 Cases in India May Increase in Winter. All you need to know

Before the onset of winter, experts warn that the number of Covid-19 infections may experience a sudden spike as mercury falls. Russia and the UK are experiencing a second wave of Covid-19 made worse by the winter. There is no reason to rule out the possibility of the same in India, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan previously said. The Covid-19 expert panel, headed by VK Paul, also stated that India must be ready to face a second wave during the winter.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Covid-19 winter predictions:

one. In the UK, Covid-19 cases saw a 40 percent increase with the onset of winter.

two. The prediction is that the UK will see 120,000 deaths this winter.

3. During the first few months, right after the outbreak of the infection, it was rumored that heat and cold can kill the coronavirus. But the virus has survived the summer and monsoon and is likely to intensify in winter.

Four. Although there has been no confirmation on this, Covid-19 is likely to function like other flu viruses that thrive in winter conditions.

5. Studies suggest that all respiratory pandemics, including the Spanish flu, Asian flu, and Hong Kong flu, encountered a second wave after six months of the outbreak. But for Covid-19, it will coincide with winter.

6. It will also be a year this November, as the virus was first detected in Wuhan in November 2019.

7. Cases of swine flu in Maharashtra increased during the winter, according to a study.

8. People with respiratory problems suffer during the winter. In India, pollution is likely to add to this as the major cities are heavily polluted.

9. Covid-19 so far has not shown any change in behavior due to the change in season. But as the number of cases is increasing in countries where the temperature has started to drop, Covid-19 is expected to become more active during the winter in India as well.

10. In November-December, there will likely be more unlocking in India. The holiday unlocking spill will continue into November and December with more trains, flights, and inter-state travel, potentially increasing Covid-19 cases. Many European countries are going through a second lockdown now to verify the number of cases.
