While Gupta could not be reached, he sent a message to the WhatsApp group of national NSUI officials.

Orders from the presidents of the states have been pending for months. Many other state units are awaiting a shakeup to accommodate new activists. These ongoing delays from SG (O) are hurting the organization, but under the current circumstances it is not possible to repeatedly climb to president of Congress. Many of the leaders of the G-23 group were also upset with Venugopal, who is considered close to Gandhi. NSUI sources said Venugopal had been “sitting in” organizational appointments related to the NSUI for a long time. It is unclear if Gupta had raised the issue with Rahul.
