Sony LIV’s Sandwiched Forever stars Kunaal Roy Kapur, Aahana Kumra, Atul Kulkarni, Lubna Salim, Zakir Hussain and Divya Seth Shah in leading roles. The comedy series follows a newly married couple living a happy life until their parents move in next door in adjacent apartments. Directed by Rohan Sippy, the show began airing on December 25.
Ektaa Malik of the Indian Express gave the series a star. She said, “This is our Christmas present to you. We watched Sandwiched Forever, so you don’t have to. If you’re craving a dose of Hindi comedy, watch reruns of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, or if you can find, Dekh Bhai Dekh.”
Netflix’s Bridgerton also began streaming on December 25. This is Shondaland’s first series for Netflix and the trailer reminded us of Gossip Girl, but set in ancient times. Lady Whistledown’s partnership papers feature all the gossip and it’s these gossip that feed the show’s story.
Disney + Hotstar began streaming Soul, starring Jamie Foxx, on Christmas Day. This is the first Pixar movie in its 25-year film history to have a predominantly black cast. Collider’s Matt Goldberg called Soul “Pixar’s most mature film yet” and wrote in the review: “The new Pixar film is not inappropriate for children, but they are not the target audience for a film that reflects on what it means to be alive. “
