The decision was made to maintain social distancing and avoid overcrowding in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic.
“The number of daily special suburban services will be increased from 350 to 500 on Western Railway beginning September 21 to maintain social distancing and avoid overcrowding. Essential personnel who, as notified by the state government, are requested to travel in local trains, please wear a mask while traveling, “Western Railway said in a statement.
Taking into account the high demand for travel on specific routes, the Ministry of Railways has decided to run 20 pairs of Clone Special trains from September 21, 2020 until further notice.
Of these 20 pairs, five pairs of clone special trains will run from Western Railway.
These Clone trains will run on notified schedules and will be fully booked trains with humsafar-type rakes.
Of the 5 special clone pairs being put into operation, 3 trains are from Ahmedabad and one from Bandra Terminus and Surat. Trains departing from Western Railway are Ahmedabad- Darbhanga, Ahmedabad- Delhi, Ahmedabad- Patna, Bandra Terminus- Amritsar and Surat- Chhapra. These clone special trains will work with Humsafar rakes and loads as appropriate on Humsafar trains.
Clone Special trains will join the special trains that are already in operation.

Train No 09025/26 Bandra Terminus-Amritsar Weekly Superfast Special
Train n. 09025 Bandra (T) – Amritsar will depart Bandra (T) every Monday, September 21, 2020 at 11:15 AM and arrive in Amritsar at 4:00 PM the next day.
Similarly, train n. 09026 Amritsar- Bandra (T) will depart from Amritsar every Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 6:20 AM and arrive in Bandra (T) at 11:05 AM the following day. En route, the train will stop at Vadodara, Ratlam, Kota, New Delhi, Ambala Cantt and Chandigarh stations in both directions. The train is made up of AC 3-Tier and Sleeper class wagons.
Train No 09065/66 Surat- Chhapra Weekly Superfast Special
The train n. 09065 Surat-Chhapra, the weekly super fast special will depart from Surat every Monday on September 21, 2020 at 8:30 AM and arrive in Chhapra at 2:30 PM the following day.
Similarly, train n. 09066 Chhapra-Surat will depart Chhapra every Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 8:30 AM and arrive in Surat at 2:45 PM the following day. En route, the train will stop at Bhusaval, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Prayagraj Chheoki., Varanasi and Shahganj stations in both directions. The train is made up of AC 3-Tier and Sleeper class wagons.
Train No 09465/66 Ahmedabad-Darbhanga Weekly Special
Train No.09465 Ahmedabad -Darbhanga Weekly Special will depart Ahmedabad every Friday on September 25, 2020 at 8:40 PM and arrive in Darbhanga at 09:30 AM on Sunday.
Similarly, train n. 09466 Darbhanga-Ahmedabad will depart Darbhanga every Monday, September 28, 2020 at 04:00 AM and arrive in Ahmedabad at 4:20 PM on Tuesday. En route, the train will stop at Chhayapuri, Ratlam, Ujjain, Guna, Bina, Jhansi, Central Kanpur, Lucknow, Faizabad, Shahganj Jn, Chhapra, Muzaffarpur Jn. and Samastipur Jn. stations in both directions. The train is made up of AC 3-Tier and Sleeper class wagons.
Train No 09415/16 Ahmedabad- Delhi Bi- Superfast weekly special
The train n. 09415 Ahmedabad- Delhi will depart Ahmedabad every Sunday and Wednesday of September 23, 2020 at 5:40 p.m. and arrive in Delhi at 7:55 a.m. the following day.
Similarly, train n. 09416 Delhi-Ahmedabad will depart Delhi every Monday and Thursday on September 24, 2020 at 2:20 p.m. to arrive in Ahmedabad at 04:35 a.m. the following day. En route, the train will stop at Abu Road, Ajmer and Jaipur stations in both directions. The train is made up of AC 3-Tier and Sleeper class wagons.
Train No 09447/48 Ahmedabad-Patna Weekly Superfast Special
Weekly special train number 09447 Ahmedabad- Patna will depart Ahmedabad every Wednesday 23 September 2020 at 7.45 pm and arrive in Patna at 12.30 am on Friday. Similarly, special train No. 09448 Patna-Ahmedabad will depart Patna every Friday on September 25, 2020 at 10:30 p.m. and will arrive in Ahmedabad at 02.05 on Sunday. En route, the train will stop at Chhayapuri, Ratlam, Kota, Agra Fort, Kanpur Central and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn, stations in both directions. The train is made up of AC 3-Tier and Sleeper class wagons.
The reservation of trains n. 09025, 09065, 09465, 09415 and 09447 will open from September 19, 2020 at designated PRS counters and on the IRCTC website. The Advance Booking Term will be 10 days.
