The West Bengal government has reversed its previous decision to shut down the state on September 12 in the interest of students taking the NEET exam on September 13, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced today.

Mamata Banerjee tweeted that the decision was made after numerous requests from the student community about lifting the lockdown rules on September 12, considering the NEET 2020 exam scheduled for September 13.

However, the full shutdown in the state on September 11 will remain in effect and no public activities will be allowed on that day.

Mamata Banerjee tweeted: “GoWB had initially announced a statewide lockdown on September 11-12. Considering the NEET 2020 exam scheduled for September 13, we have received numerous requests from the student community regarding the lifting of the standards of I lock on 12, which helps ease your trip to the test centers. “

Mamata Banerjee also wanted the students to appear for the entrance medical exam.

With your interest in mind, while the statewide lockdown remains as it is on September 11, it has been decided to cancel the lockdown on the 12th, so that students can attend the exam on the 13th without apprehensions or concerns. I wish you all the best.
