Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins, who played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2020 Indian Premier League in the United Arab Emirates, believes being part of the biosecurity bubble has benefited him ahead of the next series against India. Cummins has been named vice-captain of Australia’s ODI and T20I team, and said he feels fresh ahead of the big series that begins with the first ODI to take place on November 27 in Sydney.
“One of the benefits of being in a bubble in the UAE was that we didn’t spend a lot of time traveling,” Cummins told cricket.com.au.

“In a normal IPL, we are on a flight every other day, in a different city, so I think sometimes that can be as exhausting as the game part,” he added.
“No doubt also, the six or seven months we had at home (during the winter) put us in a pretty good place before the UK tour and IPL. Coming to those tours fresh doesn’t feel like the end of the summer, it feels like I’m ready to start the tour and in a pretty good place, ”the fast pitcher also said.
Cummins also said that he expects Australia’s surfaces to give India’s hitters a tough time.
“If it happens, I’ll be happy,” Cummins said. “Hopefully the (field) conditions will be what Australians are used to. Hopefully they have a little more rebound and pace than you would have in a place like India, so that the advantage of playing at home can come into play, “he added.
India will play 3 ODI, 3 T20I and 4 Tests against Australia.
