OnePlus has been raising its prices every year since OnePlus One. This year it was the same case, but no one expected the company to do what it did: create a true rival the Samsung Galaxy S20. A real IP rating, a solid camera system and excellent software are just some of the main features of the OnePlus 8 Pro. Coincidentally, the Galaxy S20 Plus shares those same features, as well as many other similar specifications. They even have the same price (with discounts)!
Last week, we asked you to choose one: OnePlus 8 Pro or Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus. We have many OnePlus fans reading Android Authority so we were hoping OnePlus 8 Pro would win this one, but the results actually paint a more interesting picture than we originally thought.

Results
From more than 10,000 total votes on the website and Twitter, a large majority (47.6%) of Android Authority Readers chose the OnePlus 8 Pro over the Galaxy S20 Plus. Only 32.75% of readers chose the Galaxy S20 Plus over OnePlus, while 19.64% of voters said they don’t like any of the phones. Well then.
Interestingly, voters on the website were much more willing to choose the OnePlus 8 Pro over the S20 Plus – those results showed that the OnePlus disappeared with 55.28% of the vote compared to 34.54% for the S20 Plus. Twitter voters were more torn. There, the OnePlus 8 Pro “only” got 44.8% of the vote compared to 32.1% for the S20 Plus.
Still, the results are clear. Most of you prefer the OnePlus 8 Pro over the Galaxy S20 Plus.

The OnePlus lacks expandable storage and a good camera.
In turn, the S20 has an intrusive hole in the middle of the screen and a garbage processor in most parts of the world, so obviously neither. - roaduardo: S20 Plus because its screen is MUCH less curved than the OP. That’s the key reason for you to see the Samsung on the OP. If OP ever flattens its screens like Pixel and iPhones, then I’m on OP until I die. Until then? No

- Blee: OnePlus now collects iconic rewards! I wouldn’t buy any of the S20 plus or OnePlus 8 Pro due to their prices. But if it was free I would choose the OnePlus 8 Pro for its overall look and design, I love it
