Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed on Thursday that while a Covid-19 vaccine was about a month away, the infectious virus was already contained in the state.

“We are one month away from the Covid-19 vaccine and the state has already contained the pandemic. Developed countries like the United States recorded a Covid-19 death rate of around eight percent, but Uttar Pradesh only saw 1.04. percent of Covid -19 deaths, “said Yogi Adityanath.

He spoke at the opening ceremony of the “Healthy Eastern Uttar Pradesh” campaign at the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Gorakhpur, where he was the main guest.

He also said that Covid’s management had received high praise from the World Health Organization and that research work should be done on the matter.
