Now you can watch Netflix for free in India. Netflix StreamFest started earlier today and will continue through Sunday (December 6). This is the first time that Netflix has offered its services for free and for a whole weekend.
Netflix’s entire catalog, including movies, TV shows and documentaries, is free for users in India. You will also have access to Netflix features such as creating profiles, parental controls, creating lists, and also downloading movies and shows. Netflix allows standard definition streaming and only one user can stream from one account at a time. If you want to watch Netflix for free, you will have to create an account that you can do through the browser or from your Android application.
Creating a Netflix account is only possible on the web and your Android app, but you can view it on any device. This includes iPhones, iPads, Android tablets, laptops, smart TVs, and more. You can even stream Netflix to larger screens during StreamFest. There is very likely an increase in traffic today, so Netflix could limit the number of people who watch when this happens. If there is one, Netflix will alert you by saying “StreamFest is full” and will also notify you when you can start watching it again.
Netflix is testing this first in India and based on the response, it could expand it to other markets as well. Netflix is one of the most popular streaming services in India and also one of the most expensive with monthly plans starting at Rs 499 per month and Rs 199 for mobile devices.
