VK Sasikala hospitalized for fever symptom, negative Covid rapid test result and waiting for RT-PCR

VK Sasikala will be released from Bengaluru jail on January 27 after paying a fine of 10 million rupees.

Bangalore:

VK Sasikala, a close assistant to the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and head of AIADMK, J Jayalalithaa, has been admitted to the Bowring Government Hospital in Bengaluru for complaining of fever and back pain. A rapid antigen test from the former AIADMK leader, who had also complained of shortness of breath today, came back negative for COVID-19.

Your swab sample is now being tested using the most reliable RT-PCR test to confirm if you have coronavirus disease. The result is expected in a few hours.

Ms. Sasikala is awaiting her release from prison in a disproportionate estate case, in which the former Chief Minister was the main defendant.

On Wednesday, she was taken to hospital for the first time inside Bengaluru jail, where she has been serving a four-year sentence.

Doctors at the Bengaluru jail hospital suspect that Sasikala may have contracted COVID-19 as her blood oxygen level was low at the time of admission, sources said.

Ms. Sasikala will be released from Bengaluru jail on January 27 after paying a fine of 10 million rupees in the case of disproportionate assets.
