Indian Captain Virat Kohli’s message on Diwali to celebrate the cookie-free holidays to protect the environment came on the trolling hotline on social media. While the captain was widely criticized by online fans for his “forced awakening,” his teammate Royal Challengers Bangalore and Indian off-roader Shivam Dube has now become Twitter’s ammunition to fire more shots at the RCB leader, Kohli.
Dressed in the traditional kurta, Dube shared some snapshots of him celebrating the festival with firecrackers on Saturday.
“Wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali and a Happy New Year ahead …” the cricketer wrote on his Twitter page.
Before long, Twitterati took it upon himself to sarcastically poke fun at Kohli using Diwali photographs from Dube.
Kohli, in her video message, wished the fans and said, “A very happy Diwali from me to you and your families. May God bless you with peace, prosperity and happiness this Diwali. Remember not to pop cookies, protect the environment, and have fun at home with your loved ones with a simple diya and candy on this auspicious occasion. God bless you all, take care ”.
