Virat Kohli, Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon and Sara Ali Khan pledged support on Monday in fighting the false forwards on social media, saying the nation needs to play together to win this battle.

Along with the tweet, the 31-year-old also shared a video of him being seen alongside Bollywood actors, who talk about the threat of fake strikers on social media platforms. The video shows the actors and the cricket player sitting around a dining table, but their segments have been digitally connected. The four are locked up with their respective families.
The video was filmed by the cast and edited by the director in their respective homes, following the government’s social distancing guidelines and Covid-19 standards, according to the statement.

The video was commissioned by TikTok. The campaign will launch on DD and other television and social media channels starting Monday. The government had asked social media companies to put more controls in place to curb the spread of misleading content that could cause harm to society in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak. It also asked these platforms to remove false messages that spread misinformation and weaken government efforts to fight the coronavirus.
Earlier on Sunday, Virat and Ayushmann also participated in the iForIndia concert which raised over Rs 3 crore for the coronavirus relief. Ayushmann recited a poem and sang a couple of his songs. Virat thanked health workers for their services and called them superheroes.
