Indian skipper Virat Kohli has expressed his affection for Dhoni on numerous occasions and such a recent gesture from the captain has left many spectators satisfied. A group of spectators held up a banner reading “We miss you MS Dhoni” during India’s second T20I against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), to which Virat Kohli responded “Me too” with hand gestures. A video of the incident has also gone viral on social media. Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15 this year. Despite his IPL appearance, fans have not seen the former captain on the field in his blue jersey. Shortly after Dhoni announced his retirement, Virat Kohli posted a minute-long video, thanking the former for his friendship and faith. He also mentioned that Dhoni would always be his captain.
“Words fall short many times in life and I think this is one of those moments. All I can say is that you will always be that guy who sat in the last seat of the bus. We have shared great camaraderie, friendship, understanding because we have always played for the same roles, the same goals, which was to make the team win. It has been a pleasure playing under you, next to you. You showed confidence in me, for which I will always be grateful. I said it before I’ll say it again, you’ll always be my captain, ”Kohli had said.
