The woman’s shooting outside the university was caught on terrifying video.

Faridabad:

A 21-year-old woman in Haryana was shot and killed in broad daylight outside her university by a man who first tried to get her into his car. The murder of the woman in the streets, just 30 kilometers from Delhi, has been captured in a terrifying video that shows her attempts to save herself before being shot at point-blank range.

The incident took place on Monday outside a university in Ballabgarh in Faridabad, where the woman, Nikita, had gone to take an exam. She was a senior business student.

The attacker, named Touseef, and his friend Rehan were apparently waiting in a car for her to get out. The woman and her friend are seen in CCTV footage near the car, desperately trying to dodge the attacker waving the gun.

The man continues to chase her before finally shooting her to death. His friend then drags him to the car and they drive off, leaving the bleeding woman on the road, her friend staring in horror. Nikita died in the hospital.

Touseef has been arrested, according to police.

The woman’s father said he had complained to the police that the man was harassing her.

“We complained in early 2018 that Touseef was harassing my daughter and we had withdrawn the complaint to protect our daughter’s name. Now my daughter has been killed,” the father told NDTV.

“My daughter went to an exam at the university. He tried to force her to sit in his car, but she refused. After a brief fight, he shot her.”

Police officer Jaiveer Rathi said Nikita knew Touseef. “He tried to talk to her and then he shot her,” he said.

The National Commission for Women has taken note of the incident from the video circulating online and has written to the Haryana police chief to catch the other defendant.
