Video showing FaZe Dubs cheating on the final surfaces of the Cash Cup »TalkEsport

Controversies seem to be following Daniel “Dubs” Paul Walsh these days, as just a few weeks after returning to Fortnite, he has managed to get into trouble once again. The Fortnite star who plays for the FaZe clan has allegedly partnered with another player during the Cash Cup Finals on May 1.

Recently, Twitter user Leaffr released a video on the platform that provides evidence suggesting that Dubs violates official rules by joining a solo tournament. The video, which was later removed, made several points that could almost conclusively prove that Dubs was actually teaming up with another player with the username “waffleslul”.

For starters, both Dubs and Waffleslul landed all six times on the Rig and followed specific patterns to move around the map to avoid engaging each other. Both also focused on killing any other player who landed nearby without committing suicide. They also took turns coordinating the looting of the “Vault” to gain an advantage in the game. Furthermore, the waffles and Dubs were also seen playing as a duo in the Contender Cup the day before. All these incidents together are too much to be considered as mere coincidences and directly point to their joining and therefore cheating.

However, it wasn’t long before Leaffr deleted the video. He also tweeted a statement clarifying why he had removed the video.

In his statement, he claimed that he did not thoroughly review all replays before making the video and that the last clip in the video was “in a habit” that he did not notice when making the video.

Added “I personally think you should watch the replays yourself and decide if what you are doing is wrong.”

Some people were clearly unhappy with Leaffr’s decision to remove the video.

Teaming up in solo tournaments has always been a recurring problem for Battle Royales like Fortnite. Epic Games also had to come up with specific rules against team building and previously issued temporary bans to its players joining tournaments. However, Epic has yet to comment on the Dubs incident, but a response can be expected soon.
