With the opposition firing on Shiv Sena, Mumbai’s mayor Kishori Pednekar said an investigation into the incident had been ordered.
Deputy Municipal Commissioner Daksha Shah told reporters that the bodies were there for about half an hour before being removed. “There is an interval of time before the bodies are transferred to the morgue. The video was filmed in this period, “Shah said.
The dean of the Sion hospital, Pramod Ingale, noted that the hospital morgue was full and that the relatives of the deceased were hesitant to remove the bodies. “We subsequently removed the bodies and have ordered an investigation into the incident,” Ingale said.
